My name is Michelle McDonald. I live in Springfield with my family including two children and our beagle Molly. In my free time I enjoy listening to music, watching sports, and reading. I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from George Mason University. I spent 10 years in the legislative consulting field before entering the teaching profession – one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Now I am in my 16th year at Kenwood School and I have taught 1st through 4th grades. This year I have a 3rd and 4th grade multi-age class. I enjoy being at Kenwood because the small class size makes for a wonderful learning environment. After school, I lead Game Clubs for Kindergarten through 6th grades.
I live in Ashburn with my husband, daughters, and our dog. I was born in Washington, D.C. and I graduated from The Catholic University of America and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am in my 8th year at Kenwood and I have taught 1st through 6th grades. I love teaching because I can really make a difference in a child’s life. After school, I lead Chess Club, Game Club, Nature Club, & Art Club.
After a decade of teaching Kindergarten at Kenwood School, I could not be more thrilled to have a chance to work with the older students. I am currently teaching 5th, and 6th grades, and loving every minute of it! My son also attends school here. Ask my students about our bi-weekly visits to the library, and our quarterly class “fun” trips. I graduated from Bridgewater College, cum laude, majoring in Liberal Studies and minoring in Elementary Education for grades K-6.
